In the exhibition "You 're wearing a mask", starting on March 1st, we are showing for the first time works by Miriam Vlaming. In her paintings, quotations of fairy tales and myths meet real elements. The arrangements fuse accomplished and almost abstract forms with concrete themes and create a space between reality and dream. The works, which are always painted in tempera, attain their magic effect through the independent application of colour and send the beholder's regard on a profitable journey. In the exhibition "Rink & Vlaming - Malerei" Miriam Vlaming shows new works together with her former professor Arno Rink (Hallen am Wasser, opening May 2nd). |

Robert Barta will have a comprehensive solo show at the Galery Cueto Projects, which is based in New York (February 21st to March 15th). One of his works is part of the group-show "Frauen Porträts" of the Overbeck Gesellschaft at the Kunstverein Lübeck (30.3.-11.5.). Furthermore, Barta has another solo-show at Augustine Dufrasne Gallery in Belgium (opening on April 16th). |

Works by Sébastien Caillat will be presented as part of a group exhibition with works from the collection of Isabelle und Jean-Conrad Lemaître in the Kunsthalle Kiel from January 20th to May 3rd. The collection is considered as one of the major collections for film and video art in Europe. For the first a selection of 20 works from the collection will be shown in Germany (a.o. Yael Bartana, Tacita Dean, Emily Jacir, Anri Sala, Mark Wallinger). |

From April 4th to May 5th the exhibition Backdrop by Katja Pfeiffer will be shown at the Galerie Pankow. The central work is a panorama which fuses painterly and sculptural media. The installation and the title of the exhibition are to be understood as an allusion to backdrops used at film productions and thus, as an allusion to provisory or simulated realities.
